Your Hunting Adventure, Elevated

Kodiak Island is one of Alaska’s premier destinations for Sitka black-tailed deer and mountain goat hunting. The rugged coastlines, dramatic mountains, and abundant wildlife create an unforgettable backdrop for your trip. But the real question is: how do you want to experience it?

Instead of worrying about tents, weather, or hauling gear on your own, imagine returning each night to a warm cabin, hearty meals, and a safe place to store and process your harvest. That’s exactly what you’ll find aboard The Valiant with Captain Chad Sorenson.

Meet your captain,
Chad sorenson

Outdoor Enthusiast & Experienced Hunter

Chad Sorenson is a lifelong outdoorsman with a deep passion for hunting, chasing

fish across Alaska, and the wild places that make both possible. While Chad was

born in Montana, he has lived in Alaska for over 40 years. Chad grew up surrounded

by rugged mountains, dense forests, and an abundance of wildlife that shaped his

respect for nature from an early age.

With more than two decades of hunting experience, Chad has pursued game across

the backcountry-whether it’s chasing moose through the interior, hunting muskox

on the Bering Sea coast, and hunting Sitka Black tailed deer, dating back into the

80’s. Known for his local knowledge of Kodiak Island, ethical approach, and skill

in the field, Chad looks forward to sharing his knowledge with hunters.

When he’s not in the field, you’ll find Chad scouting new country, and working on

his fleet of vessels. When you book with us, you can look forward to meeting up to

three generations of Sorensons, passionate about wanting visitors to

experience a successful Kodiak Island deer hunting trip.

Important Limitations

(Know Before You Book)

As a transporter service, we cannot:

  • Guide you or tell you where to hunt

  • Provide maps or hunting strategies

  • Remove game from the field on your behalf
